The Washington Redskins look to get back above .500 this week with a matchup against NFC North-leading Minnesota Vikings.
Left for dead after a home loss to the Dallas Cowboys in Week 8, the Washington Redskins traveled west last week to face the mighty Seattle Seahawks with a number of key starters out due to injury. Instead of folding, Washington picked up its most impressive win of the 2017 season with a thrilling 17-14 win over the Seahawks.
Now, the Redskins return home to host the Minnesota Vikings, leaders of the NFC North. Can the Redskins get another big win against one of the league’s better teams? If Washington can win on Sunday, the rest of the schedule sets up nicely for a second-half run. In order for the Redskins to get on another run, they’ll need several of their injured starters to return.
The 6-2 Vikings were off in Week 9 and feature one of the better defenses in the league. After facing some elite quarterbacks through the first half of the season, the Redskins get to face journeyman Case Keenum on Sunday.
Quarterback Kirk Cousins is quietly having a strong season despite what many around the league or fans may think. Cousins has been excellent in the fourth quarter in most of Washington’s games, and in last week’s win at Seattle, it finally paid off for the sixth-year quarterback. Cousins was brilliant on the game-winning drive, specifically the pass to Josh Doctson to set up the go-ahead touchdown.
Can Cousins lead the Redskins to another impressive NFC victory? Here are three bold predictions for the Redskins in their Week 10 matchup against Minnesota.
