Vikings vs. Redskins: Highlights, game tracker and more
The Minnesota Vikings faced the Washington Redskins on Nov. 12 in Week 10 of the 2017 NFL season. Here are highlights from the game.
The Minnesota Vikings return after a week off to face the Washington Redskins in an important NFC matchup in Week 10. At 6-2, Minnesota sits atop the NFC North, while the 4-4 Redskins are coming off an exhilarating 17-14 win over the Seattle Seahawks.
The Vikings enter this week’s game as one of the hotter teams in the NFC, winners of four in a row before a Week 9 bye. Veteran journeyman Case Keenum has surprisingly given Minnesota solid quarterback play to go along with a terrific defense. If Keenum keeps playing at this level, the Vikings are a threat to win the NFC.
However, at some point we have to expect regression, right? If so, the Vikings received terrific news this week in the form of Teddy Bridgewater’s return. The former first-round pick, who suffered a devastating knee injury before the season last year, is now fully healthy and ready to play. Head coach Mike Zimmer is a big fan of Bridgewater, making this situation one to watch moving forward.
The Redskins began the season 2-1 and almost pulled off a huge win at Kansas City before falling just short. Then, the injuries hit. Washington has played with the last two weeks with four of its starting offensive linemen out. Yet, quarterback Kirk Cousins somehow leads the team to an upset win Seattle while also missing the services of tight end Jordan Reed and wide receiver Jamison Crowder.
These two teams met last year ago, almost one year to the day when the Redskins survived the Vikings 26-20 after linebacker Preston Smith sacked Sam Bradford late to clinch a Washington win. Smith sacked Bradford twice, and also picked him off. Cousins was good, passing for 262 yards and two scores, while the Redskins also got 97 yards rushing from Rob Kelley.
