Titans vs. Steelers: Highlights, game tracker and more
The Tennessee Titans faced the Pittsburgh Steelers on Thursday, Nov. 16 in Week 11 of the 2017 season. Here’s are the highlights from the game.
Don’t look now, but the Thursday Night Football schedule down the stretch of the 2017 NFL season actually has some key matchups. Getting that run started undoubtedly was the Week 11 clash between two AFC contenders. The AFC South leading Tennessee Titans took to the road to face the conference-leading Pittsburgh Steelers at Heinz Field.
Despite the position of the Steelers entering the game, it’s hard to say they’ve been particularly great this season. Their offense has looked far more lackluster than most expected with the likes of Le’Veon Bell and Antonio Brown flanking Ben Roethlisberger. However, a driving force for their success has been their defense. Anchored by a stout front seven and the likes of Stephon Tuitt when healthy, this has been one of the best units in the league.
Meanwhile, it’s been a bit of a mixed bag for the Titans throughout the year. Marcus Mariota and company have looked dominant at times, but then have stuttered at others. Frankly, to this point you don’t know which Tennessee offense is going to show up on a given week. Making things slightly more frustrating is the fact that the defense has followed a similar pattern. But leading the division after 10 weeks is enough to make those frustrations dissipate a bit.
With two potential playoff teams clashing on Thursday night, it was obviously a big game for both the Titans and Steelers. The winner would get momentum, while the other would have to pick up the pieces on a long week entering the home stretch.
