Arizona Cardinals vs. Houston Texans

The Arizona Cardinals are 4-5 and have alternated losses and wins through the first nine games of their season. Meanwhile, the Houston Texans are in the midst of a three-game losing streak and their offensive unit has scored a total of two touchdowns in their last eight quarters.

So who knows what we will see on Sunday at NRG Stadium when these franchises meet for only the fourth time.

Keys to Victory

The Texans’ offense doesn’t scare anyone these days. Of course, either does a Cardinals’ defensive unit that has disappointed in a big way. Don’t be surprised if Houston head coach Bill O’Brien really leans on running back Lamar Miller.

He leads the club with 543 rushing yards and is second on the club with 22 receptions. He looks to take advantage of a club that has already surrendered 23 offensive touchdown in nine games and a total of 152 points in their five losses this season.

Prediction

It is a matchup of two teams that have had their share of issues at quarterback. It will be interesting to see if Drew Stanton can give it a go but more than likely we will be seeing Blaine Gabbert at the controls for the Arizona Cardinals. And given the state of the Houston Texans’ pass defense, he and Larry Fitzgerald could put up some big numbers.

But Arians’ team is having its own problems on defense, due mainly to a pass rush that missed J.J. Watt and Whitney Mercilus in the worst way. You get the feeling it won’t be pretty. And Savage has yet to prove he can consistently lead the offense. But here’s a vote for Jadeveon Clowney coming up with the game-winning play.

Final Score: Houston Texans: 24, Arizona Cardinals: 19
