2. Bradley Pinion

Eyebrows were raised when the 49ers spent a fifth-round pick on punter Bradley Pinion in 2015, but he appears to be developing into one of the best in the league at his position. Pinion is fifth in the NFL in punting yardage and fifth in the league in net yards per punt.

San Francisco’s special teams play has been a bright spot for the Niners and it would be well deserved were Pinion to earn a Pro Bowl berth.

1. Raheem Mostert

The 49ers’ decision to keep Raheem Mostert on the roster ahead of Tim Hightower has been vindicated. Mostert may have only six carries on the season, but he has been outstanding on special teams for San Francisco.

Prior to the Giants’ game, Mostert and safety Adrian Colbert had combined for 11 special teams tackles, according to Pro Football Focus. It is Mostert who is the Niners’ nominee as a special teamer, though, and given how well San Francisco has performed in that area this season, he would be a justifiable selection for the NFC.
