Minnesota Vikings: 5 Dream targets in 2018 NFL free agency
In a fantasy world where salary caps don’t exist and the Minnesota Vikings can sign anyone they want, who should they be targeting during 2018 NFL free agency?
I know it’s a bit early for this, but I’m a big fan of speculation. While the Minnesota Vikings may not be too worried about 2018 NFL Free Agency right now, it could be the opportunity this team needs to put themselves over the top for next season.
That is, of course, assuming they don’t make it to the top (i.e. the Super Bowl) this season. Then again, at 7-2, that’s not as crazy a thought as it may have seemed back in September.
Regardless, I wanted to take a trip to a fantasy land where dreams come true and teams can sign whoever the hell they want to. In this make-believe world, which free agents would the Vikings be targeting when free agency rolls around next March?
Based on what we’ve seen this season, Minnesota does have a number of needs. From both lines to the secondary, the Vikings will be looking to make some upgrades next offseason. When that time comes, they’ll obviously turn to the open market to see if they can find some capable talent before dipping into the incoming draft class.
What if they could have whoever they wanted, regardless of salary cap or the players’ desires? Well that’s the scenario I’m going to tackle here — highlighting a few dream targets for the Vikings during 2018 NFL Free Agency.
