Le’Veon Bell, RB, Pittsburgh Steelers

I know — the Vikings already have Dalvin Cook and Latavius Murray. What do they need another starting-caliber running back for? We have to remember, though, that this is a dream scenario. Why wouldn’t Minnesota want the league’s best back if they could get him?

I can only imagine the damage Le’Veon Bell could do for the Vikings. He’s one of the greatest running backs of the modern era, showing absurd patience and vision as a runner. On top of that, he’s easily one of the best receiving backs we’ve seen in the last decade. No matter what he’s asked to do, he finds a way to make a massive impact on the game.

Even before Thursday night’s game, Bell was leading the league in rushing yards. Although that had to do largely with the volume of carries, there’s no denying the former second-round pick has played a huge part in the Pittsburgh Steelers’ standing as the top dogs in the AFC heading into Week 11.

Imagine a backfield with the two-headed monster of Bell and Cook. No matter who was in the backfield, opponents would be forced to be wary of the run. That, in turn, would open even more opportunities for the Vikings’ budding passing attack.

Is it unlikely? Absolutely. There’s almost zero change the Steelers let Ball walk. Even if he somehow does, I’d guess he’d go to a situation where he’d be the star of the show rather than splitting time with a rising youngster like Cook. Still, in the pretend world I’m writing this piece in, he’d be a welcomed addition to the Minnesota ground game.
