Eagles vs. Cowboys: Highlights, game tracker and more
By Jeremy Klump
The Philadelphia Eagles faced the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday, November 19, 2017, in Week 11 of the 2017 NFL season. Here are highlights from the game.
In Week 11 of the 2017 NFL season, the Philadelphia Eagles traveled to Arlington, Texas, to take on the Dallas Cowboys. The big NFC East matchup has significant playoff implications, with the winner getting that much closer to locking up a playoffs spot.
Philadelphia enters the game as the No. 1 team in the NFL with their 8-1 record. Moving to 9-1 (4-0 in the NFC East) with a win over the Cowboys would almost guarantee that they will be playing football after Week 17. Heading into Week 11, their quarterback, Carson Wentz is currently the front-runner for NFL MVP. Wentz has been dynamite this season, and he currently leads the NFL with 23 touchdown passes. He is looking to not only cement that he is the MVP of the league, but that he is the leader of the best team in the NFL.
Dallas comes into their Week 11 matchup against the Eagles with a must-win mentality. They sit at 5-4, three games behind the Eagles in the NFC East. It looks like the Eagles will lock up the division, even if the Cowboys defeat them in Week 11. However, Dallas needs to win so that they have a shot to make the playoffs. If the season ended today, Dallas, who is the 10th best team in the NFC, would miss the playoffs. A win over the Eagles would give them at 6-4 record and put them right back into the wildcard conversation. If Dallas loses to Philly on Sunday Night Football, their playoff chances take a huge hit that they may not be able to recover from.
Outside of the playoffs, another important aspect of this game is Wentz vs. Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott. Many people love to compare them and argue who is better, so they will dual it out and try to strengthen their supporters arguments.
