It’s one of the biggest games in the NFC East so far this season. The Dallas Cowboys will host the first place Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday Night Football. Philadelphia is fresh off a bye and leading the entire league right now with a record of 8-1. In this one, they’re not only looking to further distance themselves in their division, but potentially bury a bitter rival in the process.
Unlike Philly, Dallas is not rested. They’re also not at full strength coming off one of the toughest losses of their season so far. With running back Ezekiel Elliott serving his first game of a six-game suspension, Dallas had to rely on their backup stable of runners.
Even more painful for them was the absence of left tackle Tyron Smith and linebacker Sean Lee — who was lost during the game against the Atlanta Falcons. All three will be gone again in this game, but that could be somewhat evened out.
Philadelphia lost one of their best linebackers in Jordan Hicks to a torn Achilles and their best tackle, Jason Peters, to a torn ACL and MCL. At least for Dallas, their stars can return this season, although that doesn’t help them in this one as they hope to stay in the race for a wild card spot in the NFC.
