1. Trubisky still far from being a true player, but getting better

We all know that the Chicago Bears wanted to red-shirt Trubisky before having him take over as the quarterback. Mike Glennon‘s penchant for giving the ball away to the opposition prevented that from happening, though.

Now with Trubisky as the leader of the offense, we need to suffer through his growing pains. He’ll make rookie mistakes. He still has trouble with his pre-snap reads and he tends to hold the ball too long at times.

The coaching staff needs to let Trubisky experience those growing pains. At this point of the season, there is nothing else to play for. I know that Fox is coaching for his job, but in order to get some wins, he needs to release some of the grip on the leash he has on the rookie.

Trubisky showed some progression this week. He did a good job working through his progressions, finding receivers. He made the right decision on when to stay in the pocket or on when to tuck it and run.

Additionally, the Bears asked Trubisky to lead the offense on a comeback. With 1:35 left in the game the Bears were down by three. Trubisky did everything he could do, including making an incredible 19-yard run on a fourth-and-13.

The Chicago Bears front office felt Mitch Trubisky was the guy to lead the team to victories. It’s about time the coaching staff lets him prove it and let the good players continue to be good. At this point, what else do we have to look forward to?
