Executing the waiver wire in fantasy football is what will separate the champions from the chumps. Here are some players you should target in Week 12.

With only two weeks left in the fantasy football regular season, it’s all or nothing for some fantasy owners. If your league allows trades this far into the season, go ahead and trade for a player who will upgrade your starting lineup this week. Keep in mind bench depth doesn’t mean as much with bye weeks now over.

There’s no need to hold onto that top spot in the waiver-wire order if you are desperate for a win this week. If there’s a guy you’ll definitely start who is on the waiver wire, go get him! I guess the only question is: Who are some of those players owners would definitely start this week?

Let’s find out.

For these purposes, we will being using ESPN Fantasy Football as a guideline. Any player that is 50 percent owned or less is eligible.

5. Corey Davis, WR, Tennessee Titans (39.4 percent owned)

Davis was my No. 5 player last week, but he didn’t do much after only finishing with three receptions for 27 yards on seven targets. However, the Titans schedule opens up a little with them taking on the Indianapolis Colts in Week 12 followed by the Houston Texans, Arizona Cardinals and San Francisco 49ers. If you have the bench spot to waste, I would stash Davis even if you don’t feel confident starting him this week. I can see Davis having a BIG game this weekend and then being one of the top waiver wire priorities going into Week 12. Do yourself a favor and don’t wait. Add him now!

4. Corey Coleman, WR, Cleveland Browns (20.4 percent owned)

In his first game back from injury, Coleman finished with six receptions for 80 yards on 11 targets. Maybe the most impressive part of Coleman’s stats in Week 11 was it came against the Jaguars vaunted secondary. Coleman goes into Week 12 as the Browns obvious No. 1 wide receiver but keep in mind Josh Gordon could return in Week 13 and if he does, it’ll surely affect his targets.

3. Damien Williams, RB, Miami Dolphins (29.6 percent owned)

Williams had a nice day last week after finishing with 78 rushing yard on 10 carries and 24 receiving yards on one reception. In Week 12 the Dolphins will travel to take on the New England Patriots and in all likelihood, Miami will be trailing by a bunch in this one. If/when that happens, Williams could see about 4-5 receptions on top of his usual 8-10 carries.

2. Josh Doctson, WR, Washington Redskins (29.4 percent owned)

Last week, Doctson finished with a season-high 81 receiving yards on four receptions and will continue to operate as one of the Redskins starting wide receivers. With Terrelle Pryor on injured reserve and Jordan Reed fighting to stay healthy, Doctson should see a good amount of targets every week.

1. Samaje Perine, RB, Washington Redskins (28.7 percent owned)

Two weeks ago, the Redskins lost Rob Kelley for the season, and last week they lost Chris Thompson for the season. As a result, rookie running back Samaje Perine finished last week 117 rushing yards and one touchdown on 23 carries in Week 11. Perine should operate as the team’s workhorse for the foreseeable future.

Others Receiving Votes

Andy Dalton, QB, Cincinnati Bengals (39.7 percent owned) – Dalton has done well in certain spots this season and this week he takes on the Cleveland Browns. With multiple touchdown passes in four out of his last five games, there’s a good chance he does it once again on Sunday.

Case Keenum, QB, Minnesota Vikings (34.4 percent owned) – The former UDFA out of Houston now has 17.2+ fantasy points in three-straight games. He could be the answer for some owners who are struggling at the quarterback position.

Devontae Booker, RB, Denver Broncos (9.3 percent owned) – Last week Booker finished with a season-high in both carries (14) and receptions (5). At this point, it appears he’s the team’s No.1 running back but that isn’t saying much considering the situation in Denver.

Rex Burkhead, RB, New England Patriots (42.9 percent owned) – After back-to-back games with 15.3 PPR fantasy points, Burkhead only finished with 7.7 PPR points in Week 11. Still, he should see about 10-12 touches in one of the NFL’s most explosive offenses.

Kenny Stills, WR, Miami Dolphins (27.4 percent owned) – If you don’t know the deal by now here it goes: If Matt Moore is playing quarterback, Stills is a WR2/3. With Jay Cutler in the concussion protocol, Moore could get the start in Week 12. If that happens, Stills is a high-ceiling FLEX play.

Mike Wallace, WR, Baltimore Ravens (34.1 percent owned) – Wallace finished with 4 receptions for 56 yards and 1 touchdown last week. This week he takes on an awful Houston Texans defense so there’s a good possibility the speedster gets loose for a long touchdown in this one.
