2. Running game is strong again

Perine had a career day on Sunday. It came against an improved Saints’ defense. While the Saints were solid overall against the run, they were one of the worst in the league in yards per attempt. Well, the Giants are No. 30 in the league against the run, meaning Perine could be in store for another big game on Thursday night.

There are also injuries to discuss. Star third-down back Chris Thompson is now out for the season. That’s Washington’s toughest blow yet. The Redskins will miss Thompson, especially on third downs and in the passing game. The good news for the Redskins is that they won’t likely need Thompson to win this week.

Speaking of injuries, Washington received more bad news on the offensive line. Starting center Spencer Long was placed on injured reserve, as was left guard Shawn Lauvao. Those are both tough blows. Lauvao is the unit’s weakest link, but his injury weakens the depth as top backup Ty Nsekhe is now forced to fill in at left guard, meaning All-Pro left tackle Trent Williams will likely continue to play hurt. Complicating matters further, rookie center Chase Roullier broke a bone in his hand and he will be out this week, too.

Even with all the injuries, Perine will find room to run and have another solid evening. Expect between 80-90 yards on the ground from Perine.
