Dallas Cowboys: 3 Takeaways vs. Chargers in Week 12
The Dallas Cowboys are losing hope after a blow out loss to the San Diego Chargers. Three takeaways from the Thanksgiving Day defeat.
The Dallas Cowboys were hoping to have their first strong performance since Ezekiel Elliott began serving his suspension, and they wound up with one of the worst performances of the year. Nothing worked on offense and the defense did them no favors. The Los Angeles Chargers did a good job of executing (other than kicking), but the Cowboys did nothing to slow them down in any way.
The Cowboys are now dealing with the sinking reality that the playoffs are far out of reach, and it is hard to imagine this team being good enough to beat anyone without Elliott. The injuries continue to come, with Zack Martin leaving the game that Tyron Smith came back in, but health is not going to be enough for this team.
The Cowboys need to reevaluate what they can expect from this offense without Elliott, and they need to find a way to get some explosive plays with the talent that they still have. These games have been as ugly as they come, and it is across the board.
The Cowboys have an impossible task of replacing Elliott’s impact, but not a single player has elevated their level of play since he went down. Here are three things we learned from the embarrassing loss to the Chargers on Thanksgiving.
