Fantasy Football 2017: Start or Sit for Week 12
By Dan Thomas
Last Week and Season-Long Record of Start/Sit
Week 11 QB Starts: Blake Bortles and Ryan Fitzpatrick – Bortles didn’t get the job done but Fitzpatrick finished as the seventh-best quarterback last week. Result: 1/2
Week 11 QB Sits: Matthew Stafford and Marcus Mariota – Stafford finished in the top-10 but Mariota threw four interceptions and finished outside the top-15. Result: 1/2
Week 11 RB Starts: Rex Burkhead, Latavius Murray and Kenyan Drake – Both Burkhead and Drake underachieved but Murray managed to finish as a top-five running back. Result: 1/3
Week 11 RB Sits: Adrian Peterson and Alfred Morris – Both running backs finished with less than double-digit PPR points. Result: 2/2
Week 11 WR Starts: Sterling Shepard, DeVante Parker and Jeremy Maclin – Shepard was inactive so we won’t count him but both Parker and Maclin disappointed. Result: 0/2
Week 11 WR Sits: Jordy Nelson and Keenan Allen – Yep, I told owners to bench a guy who ended up finishing with over 40 PPR points. I don’t want to talk about it. Result: 1/2
Week 11 TE Starts: Tyler Kroft and Austin Hooper – I’m torn because Kroft scored a touchdown but he only finished with 9.7 PPR points. I’ll split the difference. Result: .5/2
Week 11 TE Sits: Delanie Walker and Julius Thomas – Walker finished as the fourth-best PPR tight end but Thomas was nowhere to be found. Result: 1/2
Week 11 D/ST Starts: Los Angeles Chargers and Arizona Cardinals – The Chargers finished as the second-best fantasy D/ST but the Cardinals busted. Result: 1/2
Week 11 D/ST Sits: Pittsburgh Steelers and Houston Texans – I was right about the Texans. I was not right about the Steelers. Result: 1/2
Week 11 results: 9.5 / 21 = 45 percent (gross)
Season-long results: 137 / 241 = 57 percent
