1. Chargers are legitimately back in AFC West race

Don’t look now, but the Chargers have snuck back into the race for the AFC West divisional crown with a win over the Cowboys on Thursday afternoon. Now sitting at (5-6), the ‘Bolts are only 1.5 games behind the Kansas City Chiefs. With five weeks left and one more game against Kansas City, anything is possible for this once-dead football team from Los Angeles.

At the same time, the Chargers are also in great position to fight for one of the two AFC Wild-Card spots.

As of Thursday evening, the Bolts are starting up at three teams in their way: the Buffalo Bills (5-5), Baltimore Ravens (5-5) and Tennessee Titans (6-4). Remember, the Chargers own a crucial tie-breaker over the Bills, which could prove costly for Buffalo at the end of December.

Regardless, Los Angeles football fans have to be pleased with how rookie head coach Anthony Lynn has been able to turn this lost season around. When this team was (0-4), any thoughts of making the playoffs was certainly laughable.
