Dallas Cowboys: 4 Players who stunk it up vs. Chargers
By Randy Gurzi
2. Demarcus Lawrence, DE and 1. David Irving, DT
While there’s normally three guys in this series, we had to go with four following Thursday’s debacle. The final guys to make the list are the formerly-fearsome pass rushing duo of defensive end Demarcus Lawrence and defensive tackle David Irving.
Lawrence is having himself a breakout season as he has 11.5 sacks on the year, which is a career high for him. It’s really special considering he had none the year prior and the team drafted Taco Charlton in the first round thinking they needed someone (anyone) to provide some form of pressure from the edge spot. However, Lawrence is now in a bit of a slump as he has no sacks in the past two games and wasn’t in the backfield much on Thursday.
Most upsetting about that is his team has needed him more than ever with linebacker Sean Lee out hurt. The defense isn’t the same without Lee and someone like Lawrence would be the perfect candidate to step up and help. Instead, he finished with five tackles but made no splash plays.

At least he did make some tackles though. Irving never even showed up on the stat line and his six sacks in his first four games feels like a lifetime away as he has none over the past three weeks and just one tackle in their previous two high-profile games.
