Tennessee Titans vs. Indianapolis Colts

Anyone recall the last time the Tennessee Titans swept the Indianapolis Colts? Back in Week 6 on a Monday night at Nashville, Mike Mularkey’s club finally put away their stubborn AFC South rivals and snapped an 11-game losing streak in the series courtesy of a 36-22 win.

Now the Titans look to make it two in one season for the first time since 2002. Will they be able to make it happen in this NFL Week 12 clash with potential playoff implications for this visiting Tennessee squad?

Keys to Victory

When last we saw the Titans, quarterback Marcus Mariota was having his ups and downs at Pittsburgh. He beat the Steelers’ defense for some big plays but also made his share of mistakes. The third-year signal-caller needs to take better care of the football against an Indianapolis pass rush that has produced only 19 sacks this season.

That means plenty of work for the Tennessee running game, one that rolled up 168 yards (131 yards, one touchdown by Derrick Henry) when these clubs met seven weeks ago at Nashville.

Prediction

Both the Tennessee Titans and Indianapolis Colts have had extended time to get ready for this game. And ironically enough, both come off losses to the Pittsburgh Steelers. The main concern for Pagano’s team is slowing down the Titans’ potentially-explosive offense. F

or the Titans, their defensive unit has been spotty at best this year and must perform on a more consistent basis. Tennessee’s pass rush figures to be the difference here but look for a very game effort from the home-standing Colts.

Final Score: Tennessee Titans: 23, Indianapolis Colts: 21
