The Dallas Cowboys are in a free fall at the moment, and it may be time to look forward to 2018. That includes deciding who needs to move on from the team.
The 2017 NFL Season has not gone according to plan for the Dallas Cowboys. After a 13-3 campaign in 2016, things have been a complete mess to this point in the football year. The offseason was filled with a lot of drama as running back Ezekiel Elliott was under investigation for domestic violence and several other members of the team were suspended — like defensive end Damontre Moore and defensive tackle David Irving.
Then during the year, there was a constant back-and-forth between Elliott and the league where he was trying to prove there was no fundamental fairness to his six-game suspension. In the end, the courts pretty much decided that the current CBA doesn’t allow for fairness, and Elliott has missed three-of-six games to this point.
Those three games without him have been disastrous to say the least. However, claiming his absence is the sole source for their struggles isn’t giving enough credit to how bad this group really is.
Dallas has turned into a poor team this season, and their latest three-game losing streak has all but taken them out of any playoff talk. Thanks to that, we are now looking ahead to 2018 and here are three members of the franchise that need to be elsewhere in 2018 for the team to turn things around.
