1. Denver’s Defense Packs A Punch

It’s a shame that the Broncos offense has been horrible this year, because they have a Super Bowl caliber defense. The inept play at quarterback, has held the team back from being playoff contenders. Even with the horrendous play from the offense, Denver’s defense is still rated as one of the top defenses in the league.

In this game, the defense managed to hold the Raiders to just 104 yards rushing while averaging just 2.8 yards per carry. They also held, Derek Carr to just 253 passing yards. The defense will always hold up their end of the bargain and they did it again in this game. Unfortunately, the 2017 Broncos’ defense will be long forgotten, due to the team’s dismal 3-8 record.

The Defense isn’t getting any younger. They might have a few years left in the tank of playing at a high level, but it’s a shame to waste a season of elite level play because the offense couldn’t consistently move the chains.

Like I said earlier, play calling on offensive side of the ball has also been an issue for this team. The coaching staff likes to forgo the run game immediately after they start to fall behind in games, making it harder on the defense.

When the Broncos wrap up the 2017 season, please don’t forget how tough the defense played this year.
