Round 7, Pick 1: Ike Boettger, OL, Iowa

This is definitely one of the more riskier picks Los Angeles could make this upcoming April by drafting Ike Boettger. He went down with an achilles injury early in the season, which has kept him on the sideline ever since. That said, Boettger will be rehabbing his achilles tendon for, at least, the next 3 months.

More from Los Angeles Chargers

Take a look at what Joseph Nardone from Clutch Points had to say about the injury:

"“As a result of the injury, Boettger will be sidelined for the next 4-6 months. Since college football seasons don’t last that long, it means his season is done. But wait, it gets even worse. Boettger is a fifth-year senior. It is incredibly unlikely the NCAA will grant him a sixth-year of eligibity playing collegiate football. In turn, barring a miracle, it appears his career at Iowa is over.”"

Sure, Boettger missing his last year for the Hawkeyes definitely sucks for the black and yellow faithful, but that could ultimately be good news for an NFL team. At 6-6, Boettger would give the Chargers another massive offensive lineman, which will help this offense move forward and hopefully carry them to an AFC West title.
