Tight Ends

Start

Jared Cook, Oakland Raiders vs. New York Giants – It looked like Cook was trending towards top-five status after his performances between Weeks 7-9 but for whatever the reason, he became less involved in the offense after their bye week in Week 10. Cook has only totaled three receptions over the last two weeks, but he has to be in starting lineups this week. He’s facing a Giants defense who is awful at covering opposing tight ends and the Raiders will go into the game without their top-two wide receivers. Cook should see plenty of targets coming his way this week.

Hunter Henry, Los Angeles Chargers vs. Cleveland Browns – I can’t tell you why the Chargers haven’t featured Henry more in the passing game this season but I can tell you he is coming off his best PPR performance of the season (18.6 points). I’m hoping this will be a trend moving forward and if it is, he should have another good game against a Browns defense who has given up a touchdown to a tight end in three out of their last four games.

Sit

Tyler Kroft, Cincinnati Bengals vs. Pittsburgh Steelers – Kroft has scored a touchdown in back-to-back weeks and this is something we obviously like in the fantasy community. However, he is only averaging two receptions per game over the last four weeks. Without solid volume, Kroft is hard to trust in starting lineups in a tough matchup.

Ricky Seals-Jones, Arizona Cardinals vs. Los Angeles Rams – Over the last two weeks this once unknown tight end for the Cardinals has totaled seven receptions, 126 yards, three touchdowns and 37.6 PPR points. The bottom line is: I don’t trust him. Not yet at least. Now if he is able to do something against the Rams who are stingy against opposing tight ends, then I’ll have to reevaluate some things.
