The Minnesota Vikings faced the Atlanta Falcons on Dec. 3 in Week 13 of the 2017 NFL season. Here are highlights from the game.

This is the weekend the Atlanta Falcons and Minnesota Vikings will match-up in a humongous NFC showdown. At 7-4, the Dirty Birds have revived their season after dropping to (4-4) just a few weeks ago, while the 9-2 Vikings are coming into Mercedes-Benz Stadium having won seven-straight games.

We all knew this would be one of the more exciting games of the 2017 regular season, but this could easily be the first game between two red-hot team this season. Regardless of the outcome of Week 13, if both squads keep grinding and playing solid football, we could be looking at a preview of the 2017 NFC Championship game.

The Vikings have been one of the biggest surprises of the entire season this year. Despite missing Sam Bradford and having Case Keenum step in, they’ve been a force offensively. They almost have the NFC North locked up at this point and are only furthering their momentum.

As for the Falcons, it’s been an up-and-down affair for them to this point. Their offense looked like a shell of last year’s historic unit early on, but they’ve truly come around. Matt Ryan is back to looking like the MVP again, with the help of Julio Jones of course. As such, it’ll be interesting to see which team is able to keep up their recent trend to gain real traction in the NFC playoff picture.

Again, whoever wins this football game on Sunday will earn themselves a huge playoff tiebreaker over the other squad. Not to mention, a victory will also get one of these teams a step closer to winning their respective division titles. As December football is finally here, the Falcons and Vikings are looking to hit their stride.
