10. Ezekiel Ansah, DE, Detroit Lions

2017 Salary: $12,734,000

Where he will sign: Detroit Lions

In terms of overall talent, Ezekiel Ansah should be higher on this list. Unfortunately, injuries and inconsistency have held the former No. 5 overall pick back from reaching his full potential. It may seem like a change of scenery may be in his best interests, but I’m not going to predict that.

Instead, I’m going to predict that the Lions keep him around for another year or two. Ansah has proven his worth over the last few years, especially during his 2015 campaign when he racked up 14.5 sacks. His ability to get after opposing quarterbacks is undeniable, and Detroit is more than aware of that fact.

In terms of athleticism and natural talent, Ansah is among the top defensive ends in the NFL. Despite not playing football until college, he’s shown tremendous growth in the Motor City and seems to still have plenty to offer as a dynamic edge rusher.

Back in 2015, the Lions made the mistake of letting Ndamukong Suh walk. They’re facing a similar situation in 2018 with Ansah, who should receive significant interest on the open market. However, when all is said and done, Detroit rewards him for his efforts with a shiny new deal.
