Just a few short weeks ago, it would’ve been crazy to think that the Cincinnati Bengals would be able to make the playoffs. Yet, coming off of two-straight wins, they now have a shot in the wide-open AFC Wild Card race. However, to stay alive, they’ll need to topple the dangerous and streaking Pittsburgh Steelers.

This is an AFC North rivalry that goes back quite some time, with a lot of bad blood mixed in along the way. No one is soon forgetting Vontaze Burfict and how he’s handed the Steelers throughout his career. Then again, it’s not as if this Pittsburgh team has reacted particularly well either.

In terms of the game itself, however, the Steelers should have the advantage here. Though they’ve been up-and-down. not many can touch them at their best. That’s the way things tend to work when your offense boasts Antonio Brown, Le’Veon Bell and Ben Roethlisberger on the same uint. Funny how that works out.

Having said that, Andy Dalton and the Bengals have looked much better of late. If Marvin Lewis can get his defense in-sync, they could be a tough out at home on Monday Night Football.

It’s truly hard to know what to make of the Bengals at this point in the season. On one week, they’ll look like a bottom-feeder who is incompetent and incapable of making a good showing, but then follow that up with a solid outing. Meanwhile, the Steelers will haven’t exactly been bastions of consistency, especially on the road. Thus, it’s a tricky showdown with a lot of variance.
