The Atlanta Falcons are moving towards their goal of winning a championship in 2017, but should look forward. A seven-round mock for their 2018 NFL Draft.

The Atlanta Falcons are doing their best in 2017 to try and redeem their Super Bowl LI loss to the New England Patriots. That said, it’s been made clear that this team still has a ways to go before they become the best team in the NFL. With another great group of draft picks in 2018, this team could get to their goal sooner, rather than later.

Take a look at who the Dirty Birds should select with their six total picks this upcoming April in the 2018 NFL Draft.

Round 1: Ronnie Harrison, DB, Alabama

More than likely, the Falcons will be picking in the second-half of the 2018 NFL Draft, but that doesn’t mean all of the elite defensive talent will be off the board. We know that Atlanta’s secondary has come light-years from when Mike Smith was the team’s head coach, but if you ask me, they still have a ways to go.

With that said, I believe Thomas Dimitroff and Dan Quinn should draft Ronnie Harrison, defensive back from Alabama. Harrison finished Alabama’s regular season schedule with 68 total tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks and a career-high three interceptions. Needless to say, he’s been a big contributor for Crimson Tide head coach Nick Saban over the last three seasons.

At 6-3 and 214 pounds, Harrison could come into this Dirty Birds defense and challenge Ricardo Allen at free safety. Can you imagine what the Falcons secondary would look like with two former dominant SEC safeties?

However, Allen has been the quarterback for an Atlanta defense that won the NFC Championship only a year ago. It’ll be interesting to see how Quinn could use a guy like Harrison as a rookie, possibly learning from the veteran.
