With Week 14 of the regular season set to kick off tonight, who are the players fantasy football owners should want to start and sit?

The first week of the fantasy football playoffs is finally upon us. It doesn’t matter how you got here or what your regular season record was. Everyone is 0-0 and it’s anyone’s game at this point. Who are the players you should trust to get you to the semifinals and what players should you leave on your bench?

Here are some players you should consider starting or sitting for Week 14.

Quarterbacks

Start

Jameis Winston, Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Detroit Lions – In his first game back from injury last week, Winston finished with 18.6 fantasy points. This week he plays against a Lions defense who has given up 18+ fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks in four out of their last five games. I believe Winston will be good for 17.5+ fantasy points this Sunday at home.

Marcus Mariota, Tennessee Titans vs. Arizona Cardinals – Mariota did well last week after finishing with 18.3 fantasy points. His opponent this week, the Arizona Cardinals, have given up 17.4+ fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks in six out of their last eight games. Keep in mind Mariota should be getting back his No.1 wide receiver, Rishard Matthews, this week after he missed the last two games with a hamstring injury.

Sit

Ben Roethlisberger, Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Baltimore Ravens – Big Ben has been on fire as of late as he’s averaged three touchdown passes over his last four games. Also, the Ravens will be without cornerback Jimmy Smith who tore his Achilles last week. Still, I’m not trusting him against a defense who has held quarterbacks to under 12 fantasy points in eight out of their last nine games.

Kirk Cousins, Washington Redskins vs. Los Angeles Chargers – Just like Big Ben above, I hate the matchup for Cousins this week. The Chargers have held opposing quarterbacks to under 15.2 fantasy points in nine out of their last eleven games. Despite going into Week 14 as the sixth-best fantasy quarterback, I don’t like Cousins chances of finishing in the top-10 this week.
