Wide Receivers

Start

Josh Gordon, Cleveland Browns vs. Green Bay Packers – In his first game back since 2014, Gordon had a difficult matchup and still managed to come down with 4 receptions for 85 yards. This week he gets a great matchup against the Packers who rank 26th in passing defense. Look for Gordon to finish with more receptions, receiving yards and fantasy points than last week.

Sterling Shepard, New York Giants vs. Dallas Cowboys – In his first game back from a two-week absence, Shepard only managed to finish with 3 receptions for 56 yards. However, that was with Geno Smith at quarterback and as we know now, Eli Manning will be back under center this week. Outside of tight end Evan Engram, Manning doesn’t have reliable options in the passing game so look for Shepard to see a good amount of targets this week.

Marquise Goodwin, San Francisco 49ers vs. Houston Texans – Goodwin now has 17.1+ PPR points in two out of his last three games and last week he finished with a season-high eight receptions. I believe Jimmy Garoppolo will target Goodwin a good amount against a weak Texans secondary.

Sit

DeSean Jackson, Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Green Bay Packers – In Week 10 Jackson went over 80 yards receiving, in Week 11 he caught a touchdown pass and in Week 12 he set a season-high in receptions with eight. Yet, not one of those games was with Jameis Winston at quarterback. When Winston returned last week, Jackson only caught 2 passes for 24 yards. Winston and D-Jax haven’t made much magic together this season and his floor is too low for me.

Sammy Watkins, Los Angeles Rams vs. Philadelphia Eagles – Here’s the good news: Watkins has caught a touchdown in four out of the last five games. Here’s the bad news: over those five games, he’s only averaged 2.6 receptions per game. His matchup against the Eagles isn’t a good one and if he doesn’t find the end zone, he’ll likely finish with less than 8.5 PPR points.
