Dallas Cowboys vs. New York Giants

It’s an old NFC East clash that dates back to when the NFL Eastern Conference Capitol Division became the NFC East. The Dallas Cowboys head to East Rutherford, NJ to take on the New York Giants.

The big news of the week is the return of Cowboys defensive captain and defensive lifeblood Sean Lee. He returns after a three-week absence from the team, and it showed. Lee is not only the team captain, but he’s also the heart and soul of the defense.

The Giants, however, only have one thing to play for. While the Cowboys won’t necessarily be mathematically eliminated this week, the Giants can play spoiler by defeating their rivals, because it would force them to (at best) have to win out to have a shot at the playoffs.

It’s a matter of how much the Giants actually want this game. Many outlets are reporting the Eli Manning will start, including ESPN’s Jordan Raanan.

Giants owner John Mara said they wouldn’t be tanking. Well here’s the first sign that they’re not.

Prediction

When division rivals clash, it’s usually a matter of will over who’s better. On team will want it more than the other, and with all the hoopla surrounding the Giants this week, it wouldn’t be a surprise if the team comes out flat early. Dallas is still playing for a Wild Card spot, and they’re still mathematically alive for the NFC East and a home playoff game.

The Giants also come in with a nothing to lose attitude, though. They can throw everything at the Cowboys and take risks that they normally wouldn’t. Unfortunately, it won’t be enough to overtake the Cowboys, even with Ezekiel Elliott being suspended until Week 16.

Final Score PredictionDallas Cowboys: 24, New York Giants: 20
