New York Jets vs. Denver Broncos

The Jets head to Sports Authority Field at Mile High to take on the Broncos in Week 14. For the Jets, it’s a must-win game, because they have to win out in order to realistically have a chance to make the playoffs.

The funny thing is that Broncos fans must feel conflicted in this game. Who should they root for? A Broncos win means they don’t get a high enough draft pick to land the quarterback they need, and the Jets winning could lead to two of their division rivals being closer to being ousted from the playoffs.

The Jets don’t control their own destiny, though. They must finish ahead of the Raiders, but they can finish tied with the Chargers, Chiefs and Bills if they win out, because they will hold the tiebreaker over all three of those teams.

This matchup goes back to the days of the American Football League, when the Broncos and Jets played annually. The Jets are 8-11 all-time in Denver, including an AFC Championship Game loss to them in after the 1998 regular season.

Prediction

This game look like it could be a blowout, the way both teams have played. That said, the wise guys in Vegas know something, because the line has only fluctuated between Broncos -1.5 and Jets -1. When you look at the numbers of the two starting quarterbacks, you can see why it’s so close.

The numbers are eerily similar when comparing Trevor Siemian’s home numbers to Josh McCown’s road numbers. This game will likely come down to whichever quarterback makes the fewest mistakes. It will likely be McCown, because of his experience.

Final Score: New York Jets: 24, Denver Broncos: 20
