Round 5: Jerry Tillery, DL, Notre Dame

Again, obtaining some serious depth on the interior of the defensive line should be a main priority for Los Angeles in the 2018 NFL Draft. The Bolts have eight total picks this year, which means they have some flexibility in what they can do. With that said, a smart move would be taking Jerry Tillery with their fifth round pick.

Tillery comes into the league with great size, but also a good enough motor to get to the quarterback. According to ESPN, he has recorded four total sacks for the Fighting Irish in 2017.  While that’s not an impressive number by any means, it does show he has the ability to get passed his man.

Again, I’m not expecting Tillery to become a superstar in the NFL any time soon, but he can help Los Angeles on the interior of their defensive line right away. Whether it’s giving his teammates get some rest or actually producing on the field; Tillery definitely has the ability to help with both.

Let’s see whether the junior defensive lineman decided to return for his senior year at Notre Dame, or if he forgoes his last year, declaring for the draft.
