Cleveland Browns: 3 Players Dorsey needs to draft to be AFC North contenders
1. Michael Gallup, WR, Colorado State – 6-1, 200 lbs.
Whether or not Josh Gordon is truly back shouldn’t stop the Browns from adding depth to their receiving corps. They drafted Corey Coleman — who is as explosive as they come — and traded for another playmaker in Sammie Coats. But even with the young emerging star tight end David Njoku, they are missing that reliable sure-handed receiver.
The Rams proved that, if you want your offense to be successful and go from worst to first, you’re gonna need more than just fast guys to make that happen. For them, it was a rookie wide receiver Cooper Kupp. For the Browns, Michael Gallup can be that guy.
One ESPN football expert has touted the CSU receiver the “best wide receiver you don’t know, yet,” and he’s probably right. Gallup isn’t exactly a household name like Alabama’s Calvin Ridley, but he’s surely on the rise and the Browns need him in the second round.
While he may not light up the Combine, he’s already proven that he’s a great route runner with good hands who just knows how to get open. Some may question his level of completion, but the senior wide receiver has dominated college football for two seasons to the tune of 170 receptions, 2,622 yards and 21 touchdowns.

He’s had some monstrous games against Hawaii and Nevada, but it was game against Bama that showed how dangerous he was. Although he managed just five receptions for 81 yards, he left a drop on the field and a touchdown that he didn’t get credit for. If Gordon continues to stay clean while Coleman and Njoku continue to develop, adding a guy like Gallup could be a major boost. Gallup is a guy that could become Mr. Reliability and that is something the Browns are missing.
