New York Jets vs. New Orleans Saints

It is now Week 15, and it’s time to talk spoilers, and the New York Jets are one of those teams. They head to the Bayou to take on the New Orleans Saints this week as the Saints cling to the NFC South lead by the slimmest of margins.

While the Jets elimination number is two, and they’re not eliminated from the playoffs, they need a lot of help and are essentially in the spoiler role for the rest of the season. The Jets have a young and energetic quarterback in a perfect situation in regards to pressure. There is none on Bryce Petty. He can go out and just play his game to the best of his abilities.

According Mark Cannizzaro of the New York Post, he has the confidence of one of his top targets, Jermaine Kearse.

"His energy is high. His presence in the huddle is there. He has the ability to make tough throws and be able to extend the play. I think that’s on thing that’s going to come in handy for us."

A win does two things for this team. It shows they can beat the good teams in the NFL, and it can knock the Saints off their perch (coupled with a Carolina Panthers win), and the Jets have been competitive with good teams this year.

that said, the Saints are a bend but don’t break defense. They have given up 311.1 total yards per game, but only 20.1 points per game. So, the Jets may be able to move the ball, but may find it difficult to get in the end zone.

Prediction

This is a classic trap game for the Saints. They end their season with two division games, and the Jets are 3-2 all-time in New Orleans, even though they’ve lost two of their last three trips there. the Jets can play loose and relaxed, because realistically there’s no playoff pressure for them in this game, and historically, the Jets tend to win the close ones in New Orleans.

This game will be close, because the Jets have played well against the good teams this season. They will finally eek out a win against a good team on the road.

Score Prediction: New York Jets: 20, New Orleans Saints: 17
