The Atlanta Falcons are doing everything they can to get back to the playoffs in 2017, in attempt to try and defend their 2016 NFC Championship. Even though this team hasn’t been as dominant as well as thought, they can still make some noise if they finish strong over the next three games. However, they must take care of business against a struggling Bucs football team on Monday Night Football in Week 15.
According to Five Thirty Eight, the Falcons currently have a solid 71 percent chance of making the NFC Playoffs before they kick off with the Bucs on Monday Night Football. However, if they can earn the season sweep over Tampa Bay, their chances of making the postseason improve to 87 percent.
Not to mention, their chances of winning the NFC South improve from 20 percent to 28 percent. As you see, it’s not to huge jump in this category, but Atlanta knows it controls their own destiny in trying to repeat as division champions in 2017.
For the Falcons and their fans alike, winning the next three football games should be the main priority. Needless to say, that is the only guarantee the Dirty Birds have of making the postseason next month. Looking at other opportunities is important, but not as much as winning three-straight against the Bucs, Saints and Panthers.
