The Dallas Cowboys escaped with a narrow 20-17 win over the Oakland Raiders on Sunday Night Football. Here are three players who stood out in the victory.

This was the craziest game the Dallas Cowboys have been involved in the past few years. They struggled all night to stop the short-handed Oakland Raiders and were getting no luck whatsoever on any bounces in the Sunday Night Football game.

Oakland saw two fumbles by kick returner/receiver Cordarrelle Patterson go out of bounds and somehow Michael Crabtree recovered one that came out around three Cowboys defenders. Then there was the crazy luck with batted passes. The Raiders defensive line batted a ball in the air, and it ended up in the hands of cornerback Sean Smith. When Demarcus Lawrence did the same thing, receiver Seth Roberts came down with a crazy catch for Oakland.

Then of course the game ended when Dallas caught their first fortunate bounce. After a 55-yard pass interference penalty, Oakland quarterback Derek Carr wanted to go for the win. He scrambled to his right and as he dove for the pylon, he fumbled the ball out of the end zone — which by rule is a touchback. That play gave Dallas the 20-17 win. It was an ugly win, but you need some of those in a long season.

Now we will look back at three guys who stood out in the huge win for Dallas, that keeps them alive — albeit just barely — in the hunt for an NFC playoff spot.
