1. Gotta Stop Winning

The Broncos are bolstering their record late in their season with win over the Colts and the New York Jets in the last two weeks. That’s fine and dandy, but it doesn’t really help them. With every game they win going forward, the farther they slip in draft position. Considering they need a starting quarterback for the future, the last thing they need is to slip out of reach of one of the top quarterbacks in April’s draft.

A 6-10 record looks better than a 3-13 record. However, no matter how you slice the bread, the Broncos are not making the playoffs this year. Denver might as well play their young prospects and elevate your drafts position. It’s best for the team’s future.

No matter how the season ends, the Broncos should have a draft pick in the top half of the draft, which would put their first round section within the top 16 picks. Hopefully, they can still grab a solid quarterback if they land outside the top-10 this year. If not, there might be options for them in free agency.

It’s going to be interesting to see what the Broncos do during the offseason. Will they be able to take advantage of the draft and free agency to build their offensive line, improve at the quarterback position or add an explosive piece at either running back or wide receiver? Tighten your seat belts, this offseason is going to be a wild ride.
