Seahawks vs. Cowboys: Highlights, game tracker and more
The Seattle Seahawks faced the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday, Dec. 24 in Week 16 of the 2017 NFL season. Here are highlights from the game.
One thing is very certain for the Dallas Cowboys in their Week 16 game against the visiting Seattle Seahawks … it is do or die, a must-win game for both the Cowboys and the Seahawks. A loss all but ends any playoff hopes with both teams having an 8-6 overall record entering the game.
The Seahawks visiting the Cowboys on Christmas Eve isn’t the same team from Seattle we’ve all become accustomed to in recent years with both the Seahawks and Cowboys having battled injuries all season, plus neither team have met expectations given to them when the season began all the way back in September.
Seattle enters Week 16 with two straight losses, losing to the Jacksonville Jaguars and most recently the Los Angeles Rams. The Seahawks rank 10th in passing yards per game (243.0) and 20th in rushing yards per game (103.7) in the NFL.
Quarterback Russell Wilson has passed for nearly 3,700 yards this season and 30 touchdowns, plus he’s the leading rusher for the Seattle offense with 521 yards on 81 carries. Defensively the Seahawks are 12th in the league in points allowed at 21 per game and are in the middle of the pack in total yards allowed per game at 330.7.
The Cowboys regain the running back services of Ezekiel Elliott this week as the second year player has completed his six-game suspension. Elliott is still the leading rusher on the Cowboys with 783 yards on 191 carries with seven touchdowns even with missing six games.
Many are waiting to see how the Cowboys offense plays with the return of Elliott on Sunday afternoon, and though it is still somewhat of a long shot for the Cowboys to earn a possible playoff spot, having Elliott return helps matters more than it hurts them.

Both teams need to be playing at their best in this contest, but it is certain the team that wins might have something to play for in Week 17, but the team that doesn’t win will be preparing for the offseason a little sooner than expected.
