Houston Texans (4-11) at Indianapolis Colts (3-12)

Could we have asked for a worse matchup to end the 2017 season? Between these two teams, there’s been two wins since Week 7 — and one was when the Indianapolis Colts beat the Houston Texans in their initial contest.

Well, as we head into Week 17, it’s looking like a season sweep is in the cards for Indianapolis. That may seem counter-intuitive considering their record, but they’ve clearly got the edge in this one. Not only do they have home-field advantage, but they’ve got the advantage under center as well.

Following Tom Savage’s ugly concussion, the Texans have been forced to go with T.J. Yates as the starting quarterback. During Houston’s Monday blowout loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers, Yates was awful, completing only seven of 16 passes for 83 yards and a touchdown — which was only a touchdown because of an otherworldly effort from DeAndre Hopkins.

While Jacoby Brissett has been far from a star this season, he’s undoubtedly the better signal caller. He offers more athleticism, arm talent and leadership skills. Even with the Colts’ subpar defense and lackluster running game, they should have more than enough to muster the win in Week 17.

Prediction: Colts win 27-10
