3. Dez Bryant held to under 100 yards for 22nd straight game

This is becoming an issue for one of the wide receivers in the NFL deemed to be a superstar, but on Sunday, Dez Bryant did not play to near the level he’s been at doing other stages of his career. One pass in particular saw the ball bounce off his hand and into the hands of the Seattle Seahawks defense.

Bryant finished the loss to the Seahawks with three receptions for 44 yards, with one of his three receptions being 33 yards. Sadly, Bryant gained the most receiving yards on the field in the game for either team. Being the star wide receiver for the Cowboys, Bryant hasn’t played up to the caliber of player he should be. Bryant has 66 receptions for 815 yards and six touchdowns.

With injuries the past two seasons, Bryant’s last year with 1,000-plus yards receiving came back in 2014. For 22 consecutive regular-season games he’s been held to under 100 yards receiving, with his last 100-yard regular season game being Week 10 last season.

Something isn’t right with the top wide receiver with the Cowboys, and between now and the start of next season the Cowboys have to focus on what that issue is. Maybe Sunday’s performance has shown it is time for the Cowboys to start looking for another top wide receiver to enter the mix starting next season.
