Heading into the last weekend of the year, the Los Angeles Chargers have one more shot to get into the AFC Playoffs after starting the season 0-4.

The 2017 season didn’t start out as one with great memories for the Los Angeles Chargers, as they moved from San Diego to LA only to lose their first four games of the season. However, failure wasn’t accepted among this Bolts squad, as they’ve won eight of their last eleven games of the season.

Now sitting on an unusually impressive 8-7 record, Los Angeles has one more chance to sneak into the postseason if they can beat the Raiders this weekend, combined with some help from the Jacksonville Jaguars. If the Jags can beat the Titans, the Chargers will clinch the AFC’s final wild-card spot.

If we’re being honest, it seems completely unbelievable that the Bolts still have a chance to make the postseason after they started the season 0-4. However, when looking back at history, it only makes sense that the Chargers would be the team to do it.

More from Los Angeles Chargers

Take a look at this blurb from Chase Stuart of Football Perspective:

"“You’ve undoubtedly heard that only one team in NFL history has started a season 0-4 and made the playoffs. That team was the 1992 San Diego Chargers, who shocked the world by going 6-10 in 1990, 4-12 in 1991, and then making the playoffs in 1992 after an 0-4 start”"

Not only do the Bolts have a chance to repeat history 25 years later, but they get to do it in the StubHub Center. A place that only holds 27,000 people and has brought more opposing team’s fans than Chargers fans in 2017.

There may not be a better comeback story in the NFL this season if Los Angeles finds a way into the AFC Playoffs after their brutal start.

However, there is still work to do for the Chargers, and also the Jaguars, before Los Angeles can celebrate a miraculous season. Regardless, who would’ve thought both teams in LA would be competing in the NFL Playoffs in 2017-2018? I know I sure didn’t.
