New York Jets: 7-Round 2018 mock draft in late December
The NFL Draft is a big deal, and the New York Jets will need to hit big in 2018.
The quarterback position is all the rage in New York as it pertains to the 2018 New York Jets, and many fans believe the Jets will use the 2018 NFL Draft to fill that position. They shouldn’t, but that’s what the fans want.
The Jets should use free agency to find their quarterback. They should do one of two things. They should either re-sign Josh McCown in the hopes of him being the veteran backup to be like a second quarterback coach for Christian Hackenberg, or they will sign one of the impending free agents. And if they fail there, they should use the 2019 NFL Draft to get a quarterback.
For the Jets, the 2018 NFL Draft is about building the roster and putting pieces around whomever they believe will be their quarterback of the future. They need to fortify their offensive and defensive lines, get a running back to add to the backfield with Elijah McGuire, and they need an edge rusher for their 3-4 defense.
So as important as the quarterback position is to the overall success of the team, the Jets have other holes to fill in the 2018 NFL Draft to climb back to being a force in the AFC and NFL overall.
Let’s see what the Jets will do to build a future Super Bowl contender.
