Most older and well-versed fans of the NFL will recognize the name of this quarterback. That’s because Brett Rypien is the nephew of former Washington Redskins quarterback and Super Bowl XXVI MVP Mark Rypien.

Rypien is a better quarterback than his uncle. He has a decent arm and he’s accurate with the football. According to Pro Football Focus Elite, he’s one of the most accurate passers in the country with or without a clean pocket.

Based on the numbers from Pro Football Focus Elite, he has faced pressure on 23.2 percent of his dropbacks. On 54 pass attempts when facing pressure, he has two throwaways. He was hit as he threw three times, and his receivers had five drops. Despite all this, Rypien had only one interception when facing pressure and a passer rating of 92.7.

When it comes to all situations, he’s had 24 drops, five throwaways, five batted at the line of scrimmage, and the previously three times being hit as he threw. This resulted in an adjusted completion percentage of 76.2 percent (PFF Elite), and only one quarterback of the top five rated quarterbacks was higher, Baker Mayfield.
