Los Angeles Chargers: Final grades for the 2017 NFL regular season

Chargers Offense
When you look at the grade below, please know I’ve graded the Chargers offense from a standpoint of where they should’ve been by the end of 2017. There’s no doubt about it, the Bolts have some amazingly talented players on the offensive side of the ball, but at times, they struggled to put it all together and stick to running the football.
According to ESPN, Los Angeles finished 13th in the NFL, scoring an average of 22.2 points per game. However, in terms of total yards gained for the entire season, they finished fourth in the entire league.
Unfortunately for the Bolts, teams aren’t graded by how many yards you gain each weekend, it only matters if you outscore the opponent. While they played well for the most part, this offense didn’t take off like I believed they would in Ken Whisenhunt’s second season as offensive coordinator.

That being said, with most of their pieces still in place for the 2018 season, Los Angeles could be a team-to-watch thanks to their talented offense.
