Buffalo Bills: 5 Offseason moves the team needs to make
By Nick Sparrow
4. Dynamic Pass-Rushers
Buffalo ranked 27th this season in total sacks, which is simply not good enough for a team that prides itself on defense and has to play Tom Brady twice a season. Veteran pass rushers such as Connor Barwin, Adrian Clayborn, and Junior Galette have contracts that will expire at the end of this season and Buffalo’s best bet might be to pursue one of those players to provide a spark for the team.
Drafting a rookie in one of the later rounds such as Porter Gustin out of USC or Ade Aruna out of Tulane could help as well but likely would be enough of an immediate impact that the Bills need.
5. Get some depth at running back
LeSean McCoy remains one of the most impressive players in the NFL and doesn’t look to be slowing down anytime soon. However, McCoy played through much of this season battling injuries and the Bills lack a backup at that position. Currently, Mike Tolbert, who is a natural fullback, is listed as the team’s backup if McCoy were to miss time.

Thankfully for Buffalo, running back is one of the easiest positions to fill in the league right now. Talented running backs such as Jerrick McKinnon and Jeremy Hill will hit free agency this season and could sign for a price fitting of a backup on one of the top rushing teams in the league.
The Bills could also draft a young back to fill that hole, which has been a very successful move in recent seasons. Rookies have led the league in rushing for the last three seasons, including Kareem Hunt this season who was a third-round pick for the Kansas City Chiefs.
