The Atlanta Falcons picked up a huge win over the Los Angeles Rams in the Wild Card Round of the NFC Playoffs. Here are three takeaways from the game.

The Atlanta Falcons won their first road playoff game of the Matt Ryan era, beating the Rams in Los Angeles Saturday evening. With a huge victory under their belt, the Dirty Birds will be heading to face the Eagles next weekend in Philadelphia, looking to make it back to the NFC Championship for the second-straight season.

If there’s one thing that needs to be addressed before we get into the biggest takeaways from the game, it’s how horrible the field of play was in Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. I’ve seen players struggle to get footing on grass many times before, but never have I seen that many guys slipping throughout a cool and dry weathered football game.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not a conspiracy theorist whatsoever, but that field wasn’t in good enough shape for a NFL Playoff game. Heck, it almost made Matt Ryan do the splits at one point in the game. If someone would’ve gotten hurt, there would’ve been some angry Falcons fans.

In retrospect, no Atlanta football players left the game because of the field, and they were able to come away victorious. The Falcons came to Los Angeles for a win, and they left accomplishing their goal.

With that said, here are three takeaways for Atlanta in their win over the Rams on Saturday night.
