Le’Veon Bell

You’re probably thinking that there’s no way Bell will hit the free agent market. First, I believe the bridge has been burned in Pittsburgh, given the way Bell handled being slapped with the franchise tag. Second, would the Steelers really consider doing that again? The answer to that is probably not.

Bell is going to be the top non-quarterback free agent out there, but the Jets have the cap space to battle with almost anyone for his services. Having a weapon like Bell would be perfect for any team, especially the Jets. He’s the ultimate weapon in the backfield the Jets haven’t had since the day of Curtis Martin.

Bell is also a well-balanced back who doesn’t need breakaway runs to be successful. According to Pro Football Focus Elite, only 244 of his 1,291 yards have come from runs of 15+ yards, which means he can breakaway from the defense, but he can also get the tough yards.

In addition to his running he’s sure handed in the passing game. He’s the only running back in the NFL with over 100 targets this season. Also, he’s one of only three with 75+ targets and a drop rate of under five percent (via Pro Football Focus Elite). There’s no reason to pass up on him if he hits the market.
