Ezekiel Ansah

Ziggy Ansah finish 2017 with his second double-digit sack season of his career. Pro Football Focus Elite gave him a Pass Rush Productivity rating of 10. He was one of only 19 players to earn a rating that high. His 12 sacks were the second-most of his career, and he finished the season with three sack in each of his final two games.

Ansah is exactly what the Jets need. They need a player with the combination of strength and athleticism that Ansah brings. Ansah is not only valuable in the passing game but the running game as well. He had 19 tackles (14 tackles for loss), and according to Pro Football Focus Elite, he only missed one tackle in the running game.

The Jets defensive line experienced a lot of double-teams, and the pass rushers didn’t help the interior linemen. Having a player like Ansah will only help the outside linebackers, because teams will have to shift even more focus on him. There’s no doubt the team could use a bona fide pass rusher like Ansah on their defensive front. With Ansah, fans should see the sack numbers explode.

Now that the Jets have completed free agency, and their roster needs are more clear, it’s time for the NFL Draft. Let’s see how that shakes out.
