The Atlanta Falcons finished 10-6 with their second-straight trip to the NFC Playoffs. That said, take a look at the Dirty Birds end-of-season awards for 2017.

What an exciting season it was for the Atlanta Falcons, who responded from their Super Bowl 51 loss to the New England Patriots by going 10-6, with their second-straight trip to the NFC Playoffs. While the Dirty Birds would’ve loved to get back to the big game this year, fans should be pleased with how well this team responded to adversity.

For the first time in many years, maybe ever, Atlanta was carried by their talented defense to the postseason. We’ve seen the Falcons have some opportunistic defenses in the past, but none that were as dominant as this unit was in 2017. Heck, that was a main reason why this team finished with an 11-0 record when the offense scored 20 points or more.

What I hope Falcons fans realize heading into the 2018 offseason, is how bright of a future this squad still has. Sure, Matt Ryan and Julio Jones are starting to get older, but that doesn’t mean they don’t have some great seasons left in them.

Ryan and Jones are two of the game’s most-experienced and talented players, don’t assume they’re production will go down with age.

Wth that said, it’s time to start awarding a few different Falcons players with end of the year honors. Take a look at those Dirty Birds on the following pages.
