Allen Robinson (6-3, 220 pounds)

Allen Robinson is the prototypical No. 1 receiver the Chicago Bears lack. He is a big-bodied, tough receiver who can carry the unit and help make the quarterback look good. He and Trubisky can make a very good tandem. Of course, the worry with Robinson is his ACL injury. However, he says he’ll be ready to pass a physical by the time free agency starts in March.

The Jacksonville Jaguars want to keep Robinson but they also have Marqise Lee as a free agent. The Jaguars might want a one-year “prove it” contract for Robinson There are certainly a lot of teams willing to line up for a chance to offer him a multi-year deal, including the Chicago Bears. At age 24, he should be able to recover fully.

With his big body, Robinson is a player who finds the end zone. In the three seasons he played, he caught 202 passes for 2,848 yards and 22 touchdowns. Also, having a big-bodied receiver to go along with a big tight end in Adam Shaheen gives Trubisky options, and the more options he has the higher the chances of having success.

Robinson on the outside can help extend the defense. You can have him run deep and put the ball up for grabs. He’ll outmuscle most defenders, or he can draw pass interference calls. He can be the big play guy like Alshon Jeffery was when he was a Bear. Hopefully, Cameron Meredith is healthy and run his great routes underneath. Add another receiver and have Shaheen and Cohen involved in the offense and opposing defenses get stretched. In addition, you add Howard’s running and this is a dangerous offense.
