The Atlanta Falcons have some tough decisions to make this offseason in regards to their free agents. Here are five players they need to re-sign.
The Atlanta Falcons have some tough questions to ask of themselves this offseason, including whether or not to keep some of the team’s key free agents. As we all know, the Falcons won’t be able to sign everyone back; however, they must focus on retaining five specific players who are identified in this article.
While losing in the Divisional Round of the NFC Playoffs isn’t ideal, making the postseason for consecutive seasons signifies their front-office is doing something right. No, their 2017 roster wasn’t able to defend their NFC Championship from 2016, but they were much better on the defensive side of the football.
If Atlanta wants to keep building a perennial contender, that’s definitely the way to go.
Most of the Dirty Birds’ defense has been built around players the team drafted just a few seasons ago. For example, Deion Jones, Keanu Neal, Vic Beasley, Grady Jarrett and De’Vondre Campbell are all guys who the team has control over for the next few seasons.
That means the Falcons won’t have to spend all their money trying to keep those key guys in the red and black for another few years.
With that said, there are five players who I believe Atlanta must do everything they can to bring back for the 2018 season. Not only will these guys help the team get back to the postseason, but they could play a vital part in helping the Dirty Birds get back to the Super Bowl.
