Deon Cain is an interesting prospect. In 2016, he was the home run hitter, and was a big play guy for Clemson in their Nation Championship run. However, Cain has had his share of miscues, and team sources told Walter Football that they felt Cain could’ve been better in2017.

"Team sources have been disappointed in Cain’s play as well, including some ugly dropped passes. They say he is a one-trick-pony deep receiver who is going to need development for the NFL."

Even though team sources described him as a “one-trick pony,” the fact is the Giants need that one trick pony. They have Odell Beckham Jr., but he’s their one deep threat guy. Having Cain on the team would provide them with another home run hitter, and he can develop other parts of his game while still utilizing that talent.

For the Giants it’s about rebuilding in 2018, and adding an offensive weapon that can help them stretch the field is perfect. They’re doubling down at wide receiver in the middle portion of the draft, and adding depth that is sorely needed. Giants fans should love this pickup, and adding the deep threat could open things up underneath for Evan Engram and allow him to utilize the full range of his talents as well.
